Why Should We Give Charitable Gifts for Christmas?

Through the lives of national missionaries, GFA World demonstrates this same attitude toward what love is in the same way as what true Christmas gifts should be: A practical demonstration of God the Father’s love manifest as provision for someone’s needs. We show this love by providing simple gifts of everyday use and value, but unlike underwear, these gifts have the power to change lives. Just one example of this is Kanta and Aishwarya Baiji’s story. The couple worked as field laborers, earning little income at the best of times, but there was often no work available. And as a woman, Aishwarya made half the wages that her husband did.

Aishwarya had known how to sew since she was a little girl, and she dreamed of being able to make a living with that skill. After years of waiting, Aishwarya received a new sewing machine after someone gifted it through GFA’s Christmas Gift Catalog. She said, “Now I won’t have to do farm labor. There is no other tailoring shop here, so there will be good business.” Kanta and Aishwarya are so grateful to God and the person who donated toward the new sewing machine, and they plan to use their blessing to share the hope and love of Christ with others in their village.[1]
