What Is the Benefit of Christian Missionary Work in Africa?

According to the Joshua Project[3], sub-Saharan Africa alone has over 500 such communities, meaning millions have never heard the name of Jesus Christ. GFA World is building a teaching hospital on the outskirts of Kigali, Rwanda. It is set to become the country’s second modern central medical facility — training local doctors while caring for patients from across East Africa. At the forefront of this mission is GFA World’s effort to build a medical college hospital on the outskirts of Kigali, Rwanda’s capital.[1] This hospital will become the country’s second modern central medical facility, featuring 300 beds and advanced medical equipment.
However, it will be more than a medical center; it will be a sanctuary where physical healing meets spiritual restoration. GFA missionaries envision it as a place where patients, many traveling from neighboring countries like Burundi, Somalia, Sudan, Uganda and Chad, will experience expert medical care and hear the life-changing Good News of Christ. For many patients, this hospital will be their first encounter with compassionate, professional healthcare — and their first chance to hear the Gospel in a setting of genuine care.

Resources are still needed, and many trained medical workers will be needed to staff the hospital. The Rwanda hospital anchors GFA World’s medical work in East Africa. But the ministry’s reach goes further — and deeper. In West Africa, GFA World-supported workers are sharing the Gospel among communities where knowledge of Jesus Christ is scarce.
