How Can I Help Women Missionaries Go and Tell the Good News?
“Go and tell the Good News” is a call that resonates deeply in the hearts of women missionaries throughout Africa and Asia. These courageous women know the daily struggles that many of their neighbors face: the weight of shame, fear, rejection and hardship. They once carried those burdens themselves until they encountered the life-changing love of Jesus. Now, driven by that same love, they’re stepping out to share hope with other needy women.
In societies where it’s often socially unacceptable for male missionaries to approach women directly, these women missionaries bridge the gap.[1] They are free to enter homes, form friendships and share Christ’s love without cultural barriers standing in their way. Their lives resemble those they serve, and their experiences mirror the heartaches and joys of the women they meet. They understand the culture and the language. They may have even grown up in the community and know the people. Their ministry is so personal and powerful—they’ve walked in the shoes of those they are serving.
For $45 a month, you can help one of these women bring hope and transformation to women in remote villages, crowded slums and even places like leprosy colonies where hope often seems lost. Sponsoring one of these women is more than a monthly donation; it’s an invitation to journey alongside her, to stand by her as she gives these women the chance to experience the love of Christ.
These missionaries are equipped and empowered by a deep understanding of the culture, language and daily realities of the people they serve. Their passion is contagious. They know how to relate, listen and encourage in ways that make the Good News come alive for women who need it most.
For over 35 years, GFA World has been training and supporting these dedicated national missionaries. Through their ministry, thousands of women across Asia and now in Africa as well, have found new hope in Christ. But the work is far from over.
