How Can I Provide Access to Clean Water?
Clean water is a life-giving resource. However, over 663 million people worldwide do not have safe and accessible drinking water.1 Every person who does not have clean water risks disease and even death. Organizations like GFA World are working hard to provide access to clean water.
There are tangible solutions that can bring relief and hope to communities without access to clean water.
BioSand Filters
Millions of families worldwide rely on unsafe water sources for everyday tasks, like drinking, bathing and cooking. Families utilize surface water from ponds or rivers and old well water that contains waterborne diseases, chemicals, human waste and more. Contaminated water exposes people to illness, infection and even death.
BioSand water filters are an ideal solution for families or small communities. In a short time, BioSand filters remove particles, pollutants and other contaminants from water. These filters include a concrete exterior, a diffuser plate, fine sand and coarse gravel to filter water and remove impurities.
BioSand filters are simple to construct and distribute, and they produce water that is 98% pure. BioSand filters only cost $30, but they can last for up to 20 years of daily use.2
Jesus Wells
Jesus Wells are an impactful clean water solution for villages, towns and larger communities. On average one Jesus Well costs $1,400 to install and provides up to 300 people with clean and accessible water for 8 hours a day. Jesus Wells can also last up to 20 years with routine maintenance.3 These wells feature simple but reliable engineering and are installed using locally-sourced labor and materials. Minimal maintenance is required to keep them fully operational.

Prayer is a powerful way to help provide clean water to communities worldwide. Pray for supplies to drill wells and distribute water filters to impoverished communities.
