How Does the Good News, “God Loves You” Impact the Message of GFA World?
GFA World is passionate about sharing the good news—God loves you! At the heart of this message is John 3:16 (NKJV), where God declares He loved the world — the world that he gave His Son to save. This comforting idea and life-changing truth transforms hearts and brings hope to impoverished African and Asian communities.
His love is unconditional, reaching every person who believes in His only Son. No one has to fall short of this love. We see this love in action every day, for example, through our clean water and community initiatives. Through these acts, the Holy Spirit makes the love of Christ known.
We believe the Good News is God loves you, and this truth changes everything. The same love that sent Christ reaches hard places today through clean water and medical care, becoming visible where families encounter God’s love for the first time.
God’s love is not limited to words. National missionaries live out the Good News every day, bringing practical help and spiritual hope to communities that have never heard of Jesus. Their cultural understanding helps Christ’s compassion resonate. Local service often strengthens community trust and long-term development.[1]
A Widows Prayer and Gods Answer
One powerful example of God’s love is seen in the life of Ariana, a single mother in a rural village.[2] Ariana struggled to provide clean water for her four children for years. She prayed for help, trusting that God had not forgotten her family.
Ariana’s prayer rose from quiet desperation. She had no one else to turn to, and her children’s well-being rested entirely on her shoulders. What she did not yet know was that God was already at work, preparing an answer she could never have arranged.
Her situation was challenging because her third son, Jalin, has a disability that prevents him from walking or caring for himself. Without a reliable water source, Ariana often had to rely on neighbors for water, but asking them too frequently was uncomfortable, especially during the dry season when everyone was struggling to get enough water.
Ariana’s husband passed away suddenly in 2021, leaving her to care for her children alone. Each day, Ariana fetched water from a river, leaving Jalin in the care of others. She constantly worried about him while she was away. The hours collecting water robbed her of time for other tasks, and the impure water she used for drinking and cleaning posed health risks.[3] Ariana wondered if this contaminated water had even contributed to Jalin’s disability.
Ariana carried a weight heavier than any jug. Across Africa and Asia, mothers face the same impossible choice: send a child to fetch water or go without. The water they collect may sicken their families, yet no alternative exists. These quiet burdens never make headlines but shape entire communities.
Millions worldwide face this challenge as over 2 billion people rely on unsafe water sources, putting their health at risk.[4] But Ariana’s story changed when Pastor Simon, a local GFA pastor, learned of her struggles.
He prayed for a solution from his own experience fetching water in the village. After discussing the issue with his ministry leader, they decided to install a Jesus Well in Ariana’s community. Unlike traditional wells, this Jesus Well pipes clean water directly into homes, providing a free, reliable water source for each family.
How Jesus Wells Proclaim the Love of Christ
Pastor Simon understood that meeting a physical need is a proclamation: the world that He gave His Son to redeem is a world God loves deeply. As John 3:17 (NKJV) explains, “God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” A Jesus Well declares that God sees each family. That message travels with every drop of clean water.
Jesus Wells are changing communities across Africa and Asia. Each well can serve up to 300 people with clean, safe water, reducing waterborne diseases and the burden of long walks for water. Children who once spent their mornings walking to a river can now attend school instead.
Across Africa and Asia, families discover through Jesus Wells that God’s love is practical and present in daily life. A well becomes a daily touchpoint of hope, and for many, it is the first tangible proof that God is real and that He loves them. Communities that once felt abandoned begin to believe they are seen.
God’s love reaches each person where they are. For Ariana, it arrived as clean water flowing from a faucet. No matter the form it takes, the message echoes God’s promise through Isaiah: “I will not forget you” (Isaiah 49:15, NKJV). That promise stands for every family still waiting.
When Ariana turned on her faucet for the first time, she couldn’t believe it. She no longer had to rely on others or spend hours walking to get water. She now had clean water to drink, cook, bathe and wash clothes right in her home. Ariana saw this gift of clean water as a tangible expression of God’s love. “The joy I felt is so vast; it is so big because God loves me so much,” she said.
For Ariana, the Jesus Well is more than just water. To her, it is a daily reminder that God knows her name and cares about her needs. It’s a symbol of God’s endless compassion. Ariana and her children now have the resources they need to thrive, and she feels the peace that comes from knowing God’s love is ever present.
Sharing This Good News With the World
Ariana’s story shows what happens when the Good News becomes water from a faucet. God’s love, declared in 1 John 4:9 (NKJV), transforms lives from the inside out. It brings hope where despair once lived and restores what circumstances had taken away. The peace she describes belongs to all who know they are loved by God.
